July 13, 2007
I am about 70 nautical miles west of Bodega Bay, where I started. This is the fourth day of my journey.
Heavy clouds lifted yesterday by noon and the sky cleared. The normal winds will be restored tonight and I should start moving south. The winds of the last few days gave me an easy start. The gentle waves helped me sleep and I did not get seasick.
Right now a gentle breeze is blowing from the south. It is eerily quiet. There is only the occasional sound of the waves against my boat. There is fog all around me and I can only see about a half of a mile in front of me. I expect the fog to go away by the afternoon and leave blue skies.
