I started rowing south yesterday. I was tired of drifting. So much for resting.
Today the water is calm. There is a gentle breeze. I hope that changes soon. The wind can help my progress.
Passing ships blow their foghorns to let other boats know how close they are. They scared me this morning when I woke up. The fog was so thick. I heard a horn and the ship’s engine, but I couldn’t see it. I listened to my radio and held onto my oars in case I had to row out of the way. The shipped passed.
I will be happier when I get into warmer waters, where there is less fog.
