Currently, more than 940 million people across society don't have access to a stable, secure, and efficient power source. My invention of a novel catalyst material for the Bionic Leaf aims to address this energy insecurity and provide energy access for everyone across society. The Bionic Leaf can produce a sustainable fuel using bacteria, water, and sunlight. This process emulates photosynthesis and has the potential to be scaled up significantly in the future. With the novel catalyst material I created, not only did the efficiency rate of the Bionic Leaf increase by 79%, but the practicality of the device increased significantly as well.
