Mrs. Van Osdol's devotion to children began in the early 50's when she received an undergraduate and master's degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She has trained and is a member of the American Montessori Society. She received and undergraduate and master's degree in Early Education from Kent State University. She has also completed course work from the University of Paris, Columbia University, and the University of Wisconsin. Over the years she has taught in numerous settings. She is best known, however, for starting the Center Country Day School. Her success in creating an optimally enriched environment where a child's potential is maximized is legendary. For nearly 30 years, Mrs. Van, as she is affectionately known, has empowered children through teaching the importance of traditional values, respect for self and others, and celebration. Her students graduate with a confidence that translates into a positive attitude toward life and learning.
