This invention was done with the purpose of developing a novel delivery system for use in lakes and other bodies of water. The original idea was to create a fluid object with a thin liquid shell surrounding a core liquid. The core could contain chemicals to be delivered to specific strata in a body of water if the object's breaking depth could be precisely controlled. In addition to having controllable breaking times and locations, the ideal fluid object would be able to withstand high external water pressure without breaking, be able to last for extended periods of time, and be extremely environmentally friendly. Further, because the liquid shell must separate the chemicals to be delivered from the surrounding water, it must be immiscible with water. Therefore, the goal was to create a fluid object with a consumable food oil shell. The result was the creation of COES and a computer-controlled, fully-automated COES generator to lend greater commercial feasibility for the delivery system.
