Rick, Mr. C as his students call him, has been teaching primary students for about fifteen years. He strives to instill a love of learning and have a positive influence on the students he works with. It was my pleasure to team teach third grade with Rick for three years. During this time I learned that it is his commitment to students and teaching that brings Rick to school each day. Rick's commitment is not just to teaching reading, but to inspiring students to love books and reading. Rick's commitment is not just to a job and a paycheck, but to inspiring students to love school and learning. I have seen the most reluctant readers pick up books and work hard, knowing they were valued and cared for
