William Martin was the best principal under whom I have ever worked. HIs skills of leadership were beyond measure. Although I have taught for over 30 years myself, the memory of what he did in a school which was out of control has remained with me as an inspiration. He was a principal who was great with the students, teachers and other administrators. He was an outstanding communicator and he was able to convey his wishes to those over whom he had responsibility. William Martin was the original 'Stand and Deliver' principal, who led Cleveland Public Schools at a time well before the movie. I will never forget the lessons he taught me as a young, aspiring teacher. Hopefully he has had the recognition that he so rightfully deserves. William Martin, I hope you see this.
