Space Day

History

Our office was hustling about in preparation for Space Day activities in Washington, DC. One of the things we were most excited about was the Design Challenges program. The Design Challenges offered classrooms a chance for true creative and scientific problem solving, something we at the Museum have always endorsed.

Design Challenges:

  • Fly to the Future – Build a model aircraft of the future.
  • Planetary Explorers – Design a model spacecraft that can fly on Earth as well as another planet or moon in our solar system.
  • Watt Power! – Help save our planet’s resources by developing a working model of an aircraft that uses a renewable energy source.
