Today, many recombinant vaccines are not efficacious due to low expression. My invention, ICOR, is a new way to improve the production of recombinant vaccines. In genes, most amino acids are encoded by more than one codon. The selection of these "synonymous codons" can dramatically affect the protein production of a sequence. ICOR uses an artificial-intelligence technique to learn patterns found in the genes of bacteria called E. coli. ICOR is then used to predict the best synonymous codons to use. When the ICOR-optimized sequence is "transformed" into E. coli, more protein can be expressed, accelerating production by ~236%!
